Because of the good exchange rate from Euros, and Dollar respectively, to Argentinean Peso, Buenos Aires has developed itself to a true shopping paradise. There are beautiful shopping malls (e.g. Galerias Pacifico at the pedestrian area Florida), but also very affordable street blocks (e.g. Once) where you can practically get everything. Our tip: Take two almost empty suitcases for your travel there!
Argentina is the seventh largest country in the world and the distances are great! If you are not there for at least a month, travels within Argentina should be accomplished by airplane.
That is not a problem, because most Argentineans speak a little English, and the Tango lessons are being held in Spanish and English at the same time. Of course it is nicer if you speak at least a little Spanish, because this way you can enjoy the acuteness of the country and its people much more. A little fresh up is worth it! By the way, you can combine almost every Tango-Tour with Spanish language courses at our likeable partner-schools.

The Argentine currency is the PESO. 1 Peso= 100 Centavos. We recommend you to carry dollar to Argentina to exchange and locally in the official exchange offices or banks. Euros can also usually be exchanged without a problem. Dollar are even frequently accepted in shops, often even to a better exchange rate! Traveler's cheques are accepted generally, however they are sometimes somewhat pedantic to exchange. Withdrawal at the ATM machine is possible with credit cards and usually even also with the EC-card and the appropriate Pin number and are good solution, in order to not carry too much cash.
However the automats are, not always completely reliably sometimes there is simply no money in it and other times you can only take out small amounts. In most larger shops and hotels you can pay with a credit or EC-card.
During the German daylight saving time there is a time difference to Buenos Aires of 5 hours, during the winter season it is 3 and respectively 4 hours. Some provinces don´t participate in the daylight saving time regulation, therefore there are also time differences within the country of +1/-1 hour. Pay attention to flight times while traveling within Argentina and make sure you know your local time zone!
